For a brief background of what Gota de Leche ("A Drop of Milk") is ... It is a foundation actually founded by Trinidad Rizal and Concepcion Felix (Dr. Jose Rizal's sister and brother) in 1906. Gota de Leche is located in 859 S. Loyota St., Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. Its mission is to provide free meals and medical attention to those who are in need. Poverty is one of the main problem of the Philippines. There are lot of families who suffered from it, which is very alarming to the society. Some mothers can't even afford milks for their children. That's why Gota de Leche allows and provides milk sharing from mothers to children who are malnourished ages from 0 to 6 years old. Breast milks are shared to mothers who has insufficient nutrition to provide healthy ones to their infants. Even though they are lots of international organizations and other NGOs that are competitively having a financial support from others, Gota de Leche still provides and continue its mission. One of the objectives of this foundation is it must produce assisting and volunteerism for the organization's program and maintain a wide and powerful base of partnerships in other organization for publicity and financial support.

According to their Facebook page, "The Gota de Leche has continued unfailingly to deliver much needed sustenance to generations of children and their mothers. It has done this totally free of charge, so it relies on the philanthropy of a number of corporations and good souls." There also some celebrities who already supported Gota de Leche like Richard Gomez and Precious Lara Quigaman, etc.

There are also some added charitable activities like Brown Rice Program and giving donations to the victims of some calamities like Typhoon Yolanda.

Now, National Museum of the Philippines declared Gota de Leche building as an Important Cultural Property in August 2014. And still need people who wanted to support and volunteer their group. The  mission of this foundation helps a lot of people especially mothers and children. They are helping them provide good and healthy nutrition to the indigent Filipinos. This mission doesn't need to be only their mission but also ours. Supporting them can make a lot of people happy and can help our society to be better. Let's make their mission, also our own mission.
